Woman Sues Northbrook Court Shopping Center Over Fall on Concrete
The Lake Forest woman claims operator installed walkway in an "unreasonably dangerous and unsafe way."

A Lake Forest woman who claims she tripped and fell on uneven concrete paving slabs on a walkway outside the Northbrook Court Shopping Center last year is suing the center and its owner.
Filed in Cook County Circuit Court on May 5, Jane A. Ryan says the fall, which allegedly occurred on April 14, 2014, caused an injury she claims “makes her unable to attend to her normal duties and affairs, and which she asserts will result in continuing medical expenses,” according to the Cook County Record.
According to the suit, the shopping center operator is guilty of “installing and maintaining the path the plaintiff tripped on in an unreasonably dangerous and unsafe way; failing to make reasonable inspection of the walking path; directing Ryan to leave the center into an unsafe condition; failing to keep a safe entrance and exit; failing to supervise and coordinate employees to fix the walkway; and failing to repair the path.”
