Disabled Car Assist Results In Warrant Bust: Northbrook Police Blotter
While assisting the man with a disabled vehicle, police discovered he had an active warrant for armed robbery with a deadly weapon.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Dominique E. Morrisson, of Chicago, is accused of obstructing traffic, improper lane usage, driving under the influence, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 7:42 p.m. Jan. 27, in the 800 block of Dundee Road. A court date of March 1 was assigned.

RETAIL THEFT
Margaret M. Metzler, of Wilmette, is accused of retail theft, and was arrested at 5:27 p.m. Jan. 30, in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard. The loss prevention staff noticed a woman place items into a shopping bag and exit the store without paying. The court date is set for March 9.

ARMED ROBBERY WITH A DEADLY WEAPON
Zacchaeus T. Smith, of Tinley Park, had a warrant out of Lisle for armed robbery with a deadly weapon, vehicular hijacking, possession of stolen auto parts, and was arrested at 11:12 p.m. Jan. 31, at Willow Road and Salceda Drive. Police were assisting Smith, who had a disabled vehicle, when they discovered the active warrant. The Lisle Police Department was notified of the arrest and Smith was taken into custody.
An employee at a business in the 2700 block of Dundee Road reported at 9:01 p.m. Jan. 28, three people ordered food separately and paid for the food using $100 bills. The staff noticed the bills were counterfeit after they left.
MISSING PERSON
A resident in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard called police at 11:23 a.m. Jan. 29, to report his father left their house to go to work at a business in Northbrook. When the family realized he didn’t arrive, they contacted the Northbrook Police Department. The father suffers from intermittent memory loss. After checking the area for the father’s car, the police department quickly entered the father into the state wide system as missing and broadcasted a silver alert. The father was found by a Kendall County deputy shortly afterward in good health while driving.
IDENTITY THEFT
- A Landwehr Road resident reported at 9:16 a.m. Jan. 30, someone fraudulently charged his credit card account with two unauthorized charges on Jan. 17.
- A Medford Circle resident called police at 2:27 p.m. Jan. 30, to report someone made two unauthorized withdrawals from their bank account in Michigan in the amounts of $750 each time.
- A Woodbine Lane resident reported at 3:33 p.m. Jan. 30, someone opened a retail credit card and a bank credit card in his name without his authorization.
- A Cargill Drive resident called police at 4:53 p.m. Jan. 30, to report someone opened a savings account using her personal information and transferred $14,800 from the complainant’s checking account into a fraudulent savings account.
DEATH INVESTIGATION
The staff at a nursing home in the 200 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 10:12 a.m. Jan. 30, a patient was not breathing. The police and fire departments responded to assist with resuscitating the patient, but had negative results. The family was contacted regarding the passing of their loved one.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A resident in the 4100 block of Picardy Drive reported at 4:10 p.m. Jan. 30, someone came to her house and requested to be let in to see if the water pipes were working properly. The complainant told the subject he couldn’t enter her house. The subject walked away. The Public Works Department advised they did not have anyone checking water pipes.
RETAIL THEFT
The manager of a store in the 200 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 12:38 p.m. Feb. 2, two women stole boxes of boots without paying. The subjects fled in a silver sport utility vehicle.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A resident in the 2500 block of Longmeadow Drive called police at 3:57 p.m. Feb. 2, to report they had left their home for approximately 30 minutes and returned to find the patio door on the west side of her house had been forced open. After entering the house, she also discovered that her front door was standing open. The unknown subjects stole the complainant’s jewelry.
