Driver In Ditch Faces DUI; Break-Ins At Home, Business: Blotter
Incidents and arrests from the Northbrook Police Department blotter from Nov. 10 to Nov. 16

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 1500 block of Walters Avenue reported around 11:45 p.m. on Nov. 9 that they returned home to find their front door and garage service door left open. A computer and various other items were reported stolen at the time of the report.

SCAM ATTEMPT
A Mount Vernon Terrace resident reported on the morning of Nov. 10 that someone had sent them an email purporting to have hacked into their account and demanding $900 as a blackmail payment. The resident figured it was a scam and called police.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
A resident in the 2000 block of Farnsworth Lane reported on the afternoon of Nov. 10 requested a special watch on their home due to safety concerns after multiple people rang their doorbell.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Willow Lane resident reported on the morning of Nov. 11 that their bank had notified them that someone had tried to cash a fraudulent check from their account.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Someone shattered a window and stole an unknown number of eyeglasses frames from a display at a store in the 1500 block of Dundee Road.
SHOPLIFTING
- A staffer at the Northbrook Court Macy's store reported around 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 11 that a woman was seen taking items from the store in a bag. The employee confronted the woman and she dropped the bag. Staff found about $1,500 worth of items inside.
- A staffer at the Northbrook Court Nieman Marcus store reported around 7 p.m. on Nov. 12 that a woman stole a jacket from a display.
- A staffer at the Northbrook Court Apple Store reported around 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 13 that three women had entered the store, put several of unspecified value items into a bag and left the store without paying.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone broke a window of a vehicle parked in the 2300 block of Shermer Road sometime prior to 3:15 p.m. on Nov. 13.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Dauphine Avenue resident reported around 2 p.m. on Nov. 14 that they had recently found multiple fraudulent bank account charges after their wallet was stolen in Chicago in July.
ARRESTS
A 30-year-old Glenview man was arrested around 10:45 p.m. on Nov. 8 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop near the intersection of Dundee Road and Division Street. He was also ticketed for an improper turn.
A 21-year-old Buffalo Grove man was arrested shortly after 7 p.m. on Nov. 10 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop near the intersection of Dundee and Shermer roads. Hew as also issued a citation for improper lane usage.
David Gonzalez, 21, of the 800 block of East Old Willow Road, Prospect Heights, was arrested around 11 p.m. on Nov. 10 and charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop in the area of Shermer and Willow roads. He was also issued a citation for driving with unsafe tires.
Vivian E. Mauricio, 24, of the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. on Nov. 13 and charged with driving under the influence after officers were called to a report of a disabled car in a ditch in the area of Sunset Ridge Road and Skokie Boulevard.
