Fleeing Trio Of Dick's Shoplifters Caught: Northbrook Crimes

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and a list of those arrested. Criminal charges are often dropped or reduced and represent merely accusations by the state. An arrest does not mean a person is guilty, and all persons named are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Someone reportedly stole nine watches worth about $1,200 from a shop on the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road sometime between Dec. 4 and Dec. 6.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident of the 4300 block of Phyllis Drive reported hearing a loud bang in the kitchen around 6 p.m. on Dec. 8. After checking on the kitchen, the resident found the rear sliding door of the home was ajar and a purse was missing. Police showed up and searched the area but did not find any suspects or the missing purse.
ATTEMPTED CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 1900 block of Redwood Lane reported seeing someone near a vehicle with the driver's side door open. The resident was unsure if anyone was missing.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY
A resident of the 4400 block of Four Winds Drive reported discovering the rear patio door of a home had been tampered with shortly before 11 p.m. on Dec. 8 after being unable to set the house alarm. Nothing appeared to be missing and the door was eventually locked.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee of the Apple Store in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road reported around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 12 that a pair of men or boys stole three iPhones worth a combined $2,550.
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 2200 block of Brentwood Road reported that someone transfered money from a checking account to a different account and then withdrew cash from an ATM in Florida.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Caroline B. Price, 23, of the 1200 block of Williamsburg Drive, Northbrook, was arrested at 4:14 p.m. on Dec. 7 and charged with driving under the influence. Police said they arrested her after being called to the scene of a traffic crash in the area of Lake Cook and Lee roads. She was also issued a citation for failure to yield.
A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested at 12:18 p.m. on Dec. 9 near the intersection of Dundee and Sanders roads and charged with driving on a suspended license. An officer on patrol noticed her vehicle had a suspended registration. She was pulled over and it was determined her license was suspended. She was also cited for driving with expired registration and no proof of insurance.
A 20-year-old Chicago man, a 20-year-old Sauk Village woman and a 19-year-old Chicago woman were arrested by a Wilmette police officer in connection with a call of shoplifting at the Dick's Sporting Goods in the 200 block of Skokie Boulevard. Police got a call that three people stole an unknown number of Nike products from the stole and fled in a vehicle. Police broadcast a description of the suspects and the vehicle and it was pulled over a short time later. A witness later identified the trio, who have each been charged with one count of misdemeanor retail theft.
Aaliyah A. Griffin, 20, of the 1600 block of South Justine Street, Calumet Park, was arrested at 6:14 p.m. on Dec. 12 at the Neiman Marcus in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Road. Police were told she was seen walking around the store and putting several items into her bag. She was stopped when she left the store and found to have taken more than $3,000 worth of merchandise without paying. She was charged with felony retail theft.
Ari J. Milat, 20, of the 1800 block of Chapel Court, Northbrook, was arrested at 12:28 a.m. on Dec. 14 near the intersection of Dundee and Waukegan roads and charged with unlawful delivery of cannabis and unlawful possession of cannabis. An officer on patrol noticed his car commit a traffic offense, pulled him over and spoke with him. Police "observed contraband in plain view," searched Milat and the car and found five packages containing more than 30 grams suspected marijuana. Prosecutors approved felony charges, and Milat was released on bond ahead of a Jan. 4 court appearance.
