Handgun, Knife Pulled Out In Road Rage Incidents: Blotter
Several road rage incidents included confrontations between the various drivers: Northbrook Police Blotter.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL
Bertin O. Alanis Garcia, 54, of the 7500 block of Elmhurst Road, Des Plaines, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, uninsured motor vehicle, violated median, and was arrested at 12:33 a.m. Dec. 11 at Highland and Pfingsten roads. He was released after posting a $3,000 bond, and he was assigned a court date of Dec. 30 in Skokie.

WARRANT ARREST
Joshua M. Lynn, 19, of the 9100 block of Saginaw Avenue, Chicago, is accused of having an outstanding warrant out of the Dupage County Sheriff's Office, and was arrested at 10:39 p.m. Dec. 13 in the 4100 block of Lake Cook Road. Lynn was processed and transported to court.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
Martin C. Torres, 26, of the 500 block of May Street, Waukegan, is accused of having a suspended driver's license, overweight vehicle, and was arrested at 4 p.m. Dec. 14 at Dundee Road and I-294. Torres was released after posting $2,500, and was assigned a court date of Dec. 30.
INCIDENTS
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
- A person called police at 7:16 p.m. Dec. 10 to report that multiple drones, with red and blue flashing lights, were seen flying over Sportsman's Country Club, 3500 block of Dundee Road.
- A resident in the 1800 block of Milton Avenue reported at 2 a.m. Dec. 12 that they were awakened by the sound of their garage door opening. The complainant looked out their window and observed a vehicle parked, facing the residence. The vehicle was observed leaving when the resident looked outside. The complainant checked their vehicles which were in the garage and neither appeared to have been disturbed.
- A resident in the 4200 block of Devonshire Court called police at Dec. 12 to report that someone caused damage to their roof between July 15-Aug. 15. The resident reported storm damage to their insurance company and learned that damage on the roof was man-made, not from a storm.
- A person shopping at Party City, 300 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported that between 5-5:15 p.m. Dec. 12 someone made threatening statements towards the complainant.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A resident in the 1000 block of Dell Road reported at 7:46 p.m. Dec. 10 that an unknown male with a long beard who was wearing a face mask, came to their front door. The complainant said the male was claiming to represent the census bureau.
PREMISE EXAM — RESIDENCE
A resident in the 1800 block of Dell Road called police at 8:46 p.m. Dec. 10 they saw someone looking into their trash cans and then leaving the property.
THEFT
A person reported at 1:24 a.m. Dec. 11 that a utility trailer was taken from the parking lot at Aquatics Ecosystems, 1800 block of Holste Road, without permission.
BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
- People called police Dec. 11 to report someone entered their unlocked parked vehicles during the overnight hours and removed miscellaneous amounts of money and change from their vehicles.
- Residents in the 1300 block of Church Street called police at 1 p.m. Dec. 11 to report someone entered their parked unlocked vehicles without permission. Complainants reported that change was taken from vehicles, as well as keys to another vehicle which was reported stolen.
TRESPASS TO VEHICLE
People reported Dec. 11 that someone entered their unlocked parked vehicles during the overnight hours. Nothing was reported missing from any of the vehicles.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE
A resident in the 2800 block of Dundee Road called police at 4:08 p.m. Dec. 11 to report someone removed the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked.
STOLEN VEHICLE
A resident in the 1300 block of Church Street reported at 5:04 p.m. Dec. 11 that someone took their parked vehicle without permission. Keys were inside another parked unlocked vehicle in the driveway.
HARASSING TELEPHONE CALLS
An employee at Tiffany & Co., 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, called police at 4:52 p.m. Dec. 11 to report that a customer had called the store numerous times in an upset state. The person was yelling at employees on each call.
FRAUD
An Alleghany Lane resident reported that between Dec. 10-12 they were contacted by a person claiming to represent Apple support, stating that their account had been hacked. The complainant allowed computer access to the person, who then requested the complainant buy gift cards as payment for their services. The resident did as instructed.
IDENTITY THEFT
A number of people called police Dec. 13 to report they received notification from the Illinois Department of Employment Security regarding unemployment benefits that they did not apply for.
ROAD RAGE
- A person reported at 6:54 p.m. Dec. 14 that while driving at Dundee and Pfingsten roads, a Mercedes convertible driven by a male was tailgating them and flashing their headlights at them. The complainant stated that the two drivers, while stopped at the traffic light, exchanged words. The caller then saw the male reach into their glove box and retrieve what they believed was a black handgun. The complainant refused to sign a complaint, however, the investigation is still pending.
- A person called police at 4:23 p.m. Dec. 15 to report that while driving along Dundee and Pfingsten roads, a jeep behind them turned on auxiliary lights and a light bar, which irritated the complainant. The complainant states that they “flipped off” the driver of the jeep. The driver of the jeep then cut off the complainant, striking the complainants' vehicle. The caller exited their vehicle and began yelling at the other driver. The jeep’s driver also exited their vehicle with a truck tool. The complainant pulled out a knife, then was sprayed with pepper spray by the other driver. Both parties refused to sign complaints.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee of CVS Pharmacy, 900 block of Willow Road, reported at 7:53 p.m. Dec. 14 that a white male, described as heavy, wearing glasses and a mask, entered the store and removed various moisturizer products and razor blades without paying for the items.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE
A person called police at 4:28 p.m. Dec. 15 to report that when they returned to their parked car in the 2000 block of Waukegan Road, they discovered that someone had scratched the car and flattened their tires.
