Lew Blond Memorial Run/Walk Raises $25K For ALS Research In Northbrook
The annual event featured nearly 570 runners last Saturday at Maple School.

NORTHBROOK, IL — It was another successful year for the Lew Blond Memorial Run/Walk in Northbrook. The 22nd annual edition of the event, which raises money for the Les Turner ALS Foundation, was held on May 20 at Maple School.
With nearly 570 participants, the event raised more than $25,000, according to Northbrook/Glenview School District 30. Organizers said funds were raised through race proceeds, as well as a silent auction of items donated by local businesses and residents.
"The Lew Blond Foundation remains steadfast in our dedication to fighting this horrific disease, and I am humbled by the overwhelming turnout and response from all who sponsored, volunteered, attended, and participated in our event," said Sam Kurtz, Maple principal and Lew Blond Run executive director.
