No Bail For Woman Charged With Fleeing Police, Crashing With Gun
A woman fleeing police crashed Friday in Northbrook, leaving another driver hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage, according to prosecutors.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A south suburban woman faces felony hit-and-run and firearm possession fleeing police and crashing Friday on an on-ramp to Interstate 294 at Lake Cook Road.
Mytesha White, 27, of the 1400 block of South Berg Drive, Dolton, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury and unlawful possession of a fraudulent driver's license, all felonies. She was also charged with driving with a revoked license and traffic citations, according to police.
Police showed up shortly after noon to investigate a call of suspicious activity in the Northbrook Court parking lot. One of the arriving officers noticed a Dodge Challenger matching the description of the suspicious car and pulled up behind it.

The Dodge sped away from officers, running a red light and narrowly avoiding a head-on crash even before police activated lights and sirens. Officers decided not to pursue to avoid endangering the public, according to Deputy Chief Dan Strickland, losing sight of the fleeing as it headed west at Waukegan Road. A few minutes later, police got word of a crash at the ramp leading to southbound Interstate 294 at Lake Cook Road.
The crash left a 42-year-old woman hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage, according to prosecutors. White was arrested after fleeing a short distance and passing out near the crash site, according to the Chicago Tribune, which first reported her arrest following a bond hearing Sunday in Chicago.

Prosecutors said White used the fake license to rent a Dodge Challenger, despite a revoked license following a past DUI arrest, the Tribune reported. Police also reportedly found a handgun with an extended magazine capable of holding 22 bullets.

White was ordered held without bond following a bond hearing. She was due back in court Tuesday in Skokie for a preliminary hearing.
Also arrested in the incident was White's passenger, 19-year-old Amari Wilkes of Country Club Hills, police said.
Police said they took Wilkes into custody on a warrant issued after he forfeited bond from a previous charge. He was scheduled to next appear in court Tuesday in Markham.
