No New Northbrook Taco Bell Drive-Thru Anytime Soon
The fate of the former Citgo station and 7-Eleven at Dundee and Pfingsten is uncertain, as a deadline passes with no deal.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A Taco Bell franchiser has withdrawn a proposal for a drive-thru proposal at the intersection of Dundee and Pfingsten roads, as a deadline to buy the property has passed and owner 7-Eleven declined to extend it, village officials told the Northbrook Star. Six weeks after news broke of a possible Taco Bell at the busy corner and more than four months after the gas station shuttered, the next step for the site is uncertain.
Village President Sandy Frum suspects 7-Eleven has another possible buyer lined up from the way the company refused to offer an extension to Taco Bell franchiser Neil Borkan, the Star reported. Depending on how the property was used, a potential owner might need to seek special permits or public hearings. And while no action has yet been taken, the Star reports the board of the neighboring Cambridge Court condominiums has discussed buying the parcel for non-drive-thru redevelopment.
