Mariano's Thieves Drop The Goods; Park District Graffiti: Blotter
Park District buildings were defaced with graffiti; thieves dropped a backpack of stolen goods at Mariano's: Northbrook Police Blotter.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
STOLEN AUTO
A resident in the 1500 block of Coral Parkway reported at 10:10 a.m. May 8 an unknown person(s) took their car from the driveway. The resident stated that keys were possibly in the vehicle.

THEFT
- A Block Park resident called police at 9:53 a.m. May 11 to report they are missing a watch which was kept in the original box. It was unknown how long the watch had been missing.
- A resident in the 3500 block of Tamarind Drive reported at 10:40 a.m. May 8 that they placed several envelopes in their mailbox for pick-up. Later in the day, a neighbor informed them that they observed a man get out of a car and remove items from the mailbox.

A Maple Avenue resident called police at 2:17 p.m. May 12 to report that while checking bank statements, they observed a check payment which was not authorized.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICE
A Maple Avenue resident reported at 7:58 p.m. May 12 that they had been exchanging emails with a subject on a social media platform who asked them to accept a deposit of money and refund them a portion of the amount. The resident did accept the funds and then was notified that it was a fraudulent transaction.
RETAIL THEFT
A customer at Mariano's, 700 block of Skokie Boulevard, called police at 7:59 p.m. May 12 to report two males were observed placing items into a backpack then attempting to leave the store without paying for the items. The men were confronted, dropped the backpack, then fled the store.
BURGLARY
A resident in the 4100 block of Rutgers Lane reported at 7:33 a.m. May 13 that unknown person(s) entered their garage and started a vehicle. They then attempted to drive it away but were unable to. Two other vehicles, which were parked in the driveway, were also found to have been entered.
BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
A resident in the 3600 block of Oak Avenue reported at 5 p.m. May 14 that their vehicle, which was parked in the driveway, was entered by unknown people(s) without permission between May 8-13. The resident reported that various items of clothing, and money, was taken from the vehicle.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
An officer on routine patrol at 8:16 p.m. May 13 observed graffiti on several areas at Northbrook Park District, 1700 block of Techny Road, including on the water reclamation building.
