Retired Doctor 'Prescribes' Hydrocodone: Northbrook Police Blotter
A customer submitted a fraudulent prescription from a doctor who has been retired for 10 years, according to police.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE
- Kevin L. Foster, of Calumet City, is accused of speeding (59 mph in a 40 mph zone), driving while license suspended, and was arrested at 9:51 p.m. March 30, in the 2900 block of Willow Road. A court date of April 27 was assigned.
- Juan C. Casillas, of Chicago, is accused of having a suspended registration, driving while license suspended, and was arrested at 8:32 a.m. April 4, in the 2700 block of Dundee Road. A court date of May 5 was assigned.

A Round Lake Beach resident is accused of misdemeanor speeding (62 mph in a 35 mph zone), and was cited at 9:07 p.m. March 30, in the 200 block of Skokie Boulevard. A court date of May 5 was assigned.

- Maria C. Rosendo, of Highland Park, is accused of improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, no valid driver's license, driving under the influence, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 3:23 a.m. March 31, at Skokie Boulevard and Henrici Drive. A court date of May 5 was assigned. While speaking with Rosendo, police discovered a handgun inside the vehicle. Daniel Perez, of Waukegan, a passenger of the car, told police the handgun was his. Police said Perez did not have a valid FOID/CCL card. He is accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and was arrested. A court date of April 17 was assigned for Perez.
- Brenda J. Harris, of Northfield, is accused of having a defective headlight, failure to illuminate headlights when required, driving under the influence, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol, and was arrested at 11:48 p.m. April 2, at Waukegan Road and Main Street. A court date of May 5 was assigned.
DOMESTIC BATTERY
Jarred A. Klapper, of Northbrook, had an active domestic battery warrant, and was arrested at 12:44 p.m. April 2, at Dundee Road and Anthony Trail. A court date of April 27 was assigned.
FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT
Police responded at 3:41 p.m. April 4, to a disturbance between a customer and management at a retail store in the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard. While speaking to the customer, Wesley Sykes, Jr., of Mount Prospect, police learned he had an active warrant out of Will County for failure to appear in court. He was arrested and later posted bond at the police department.

INCIDENTS
UNLAWFUL ACQUISITION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
The staff at a pharmacy in the 900 block of Willow Road called police at 1:52 p.m. April 6, to report a prescription was sent electronically to their store for hydrocodone. The staff said the prescription appeared to be fraudulent due to inconsistencies in the request and doctor. The pharmacy tried contacting the doctor’s office, but discovered he had been retired for 10 years. The officer contacted the doctor at home and he said he had been a victim of identity theft. Any prescription in his name would be fraudulent. The staff at the store said they would call if the person attempted to pick up the prescription
