Sept. 4th Ladies Night Out Highlights Tennis Programs at Five Seasons Northbrook

Flexibility and fun are core elements of Five Seasons Northbrook's ladies' fall tennis program, which kicks off with a Sept. 4th event.

As summer comes to a close and tennis action shifts inside, Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Northbrook is gearing up for a busy ladies tennis season that will be marked by flexibility and fun.

On Thursday, Sept. 4th, the club at 1300 Techny Road is hosting a Ladies Tennis Night Out from 7 to 9 p.m. Five Seasons members will be on hand for the event, and the club is extending a free invitation for ladies of all tennis levels to come as guests.

Travel teams begin on Sept. 10th, and it’s not too late to get on board one of the squads: ladies can join a league or team now with no wait list, and can participate whenever they are available.

Five Seasons’ teams are competitive, with an emphasis on camaraderie and enjoying the sport, said Chris Sheldon, the club’s Director of Racquet Sports.

“Players are rated and placed on a team based on their ability level, so there are no politics, no fuss about placement and no challenge ladders required to participate on a team,” Sheldon said. “Ladies play tennis, have food and drinks on the patio or in the restaurant afterwards with teammates and can also enjoy the services of the Five Seasons salon and spa.”

Open since 2001, Five Seasons was recently eyed by the Northbrook Park District for potential purchase. However, the Park Board in August opted against putting the issue to voters in a referendum.

With renewed clarity on its future, the club has adopted a “Five Seasons Strong” theme to remind the community of Five Seasons’ commitment to providing outstanding service.

The club hosts ladies tennis teams and leagues all year round. During the indoor season, ladies drill and play on the club’s eight indoor tennis courts. In the summer season, they play on Five Seasons’ eight lighted outdoor clay and hard courts.

Anyone interested in attending Ladies Tennis Night Out or learning more about the club’s women’s programs should contact tennis coordinator Sheilah Johnson at 847-897-5204 and ask about “Five Seasons Strong” membership specials.

Five Seasons is the premier year-round high-energy, high-touch sports club focused on family leisure and entertainment, improving sports performance and maintaining overall health.
