St Norbert School Hosts Its Ninth Annual Crusader Team Challenge

On Friday, September 30, 2022, St Norbert School in Northbrook held its annual Crusader Team Challenge (CTC) event.

The goal of CTC is to promote team bonding, foster school spirit, and celebrate the school community. Students from kindergarten through 8th grades are placed on multi-age teams to compete in a collection of challenges and obstacles led by an eighth-grade team captain. The youngest Crusaders, 3- and 4-year-old preschoolers, kick off the evening by leading an opening ceremony with a parade of teams. The preschoolers cheer on the older students, and participate in special activities designated for preschool fun.

The Crusader Team Challenge event also promotes care of the community through service projects completed by students across grades K - 8. This year the students wrote letters to the homebound members of St Norbert Church.

New principal and new parent to the school, Dr. Maggie Hoody shared; “I heard a lot about CTC from the moment I interviewed through the first couple months of my time as principal. I understood the basic gist of the plan but seeing it all in action surpassed my expectations. Watching the 8th graders lead their teams (through trivia, through fashion prep, through events, and more!) was a testament to the power of a Preschool - 8th Grade school.”

School families come from Northbrook, Wheeling, Deerfield and Highland Park to cheer on the students, meet other families, and to have fun all on the school grounds. St Norbert school is a hidden gem in the Northshore that is proud in tradition and yet always evolving.
