Cubs Tickets Are The Most Expensive in Baseball, Study Shows
Stellar season on the field translates to sky-high prices for seats at Wrigley Field in 2016.

Chicago, IL - This year has been one of a lot of firsts for the Chicago Cubs.
Chicago’s North Side team is in first place, first in the number of all-star selections, first in the number of wacky dress road trips.
And, unfortunately for the economic fans of the team, first when it comes to ticket prices in all of baseball.
A recent study by Chicago-based ticket price blog Vivid Seats showed the average price for a Cubs ticket at a game at Wrigley Field this year as $130. The next highest average price for a team’s home games from June 21 through the season’s end is of the Boston Red Sox, whose tickets are going for a median $118.

Across town, the Chicago White Sox median price for all games is only $39, with just five teams having lower average prices in the entire league. The cheapest day of the week for Pale Hose faithful is Sunday, when seats typically go for $30 and the most expensive is Monday at $52.

It’s been a special year for the Cubs, who are usual among the highest priced teams anyway. The team is 52-31 with a several-game lead over the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Central.
And while $130 may seem a little steep even for this squad, we could be nostalgic for those prices come October.
