19-Year-Old Family Friend Charged With Sexually Assaulting Oak Forest Girl in Car

OAK FOREST, IL -- A 19-year-old man was arrested after he had sex with a young Oak Forest girl in his car, prosecutors said Wednesday in court.

Moises Morgado, of Orland Park, appeared before Judge Donald Havis on a felony charge of predatory criminal sexual assault. Morgado is currently out on bond for a misdemeanor DUI charge.

The prosecutor said that Morgado began socializing with the girl’s family in January 2016. In November, the 19-year-old and underage girl began communicating over Facebook and Snapchat.

Morgado allegedly arranged a meeting with the girl in December where he sexually assaulted the girl in his car. The girl felt pain and stopped, the prosecutor said.

According to the charges, on Jan. 26, at 3:30 a.m. Morgado planned a meet-up with the girl in his car in the 5100 block of West 159th Street, where he engaged in intercourse with the girl in his vehicle. When the girl’s family went looking for her, they found Morgado sexually assaulting the girl in the back seat of the car.

The assistant public defender told the judge that Morgado lives with relatives in Orland Park and is employed as a cook.

The prosecutor filed a violation of bail bond for the pending DUI charge. He also asked for special conditions of bond, including no contact with the girl or her family, or children under age 18. He is also to surrender his FOID card and any weapons to Oak Forest police.

A public safety assessment flagged Morgado for violence, according to court testimony.

Bail was set at $250,000 for the sex charge, and $25,000 for violating bail on the DUI charge. Morgado’s next court hearing is Feb. 27 in Bridgeview.
