Blackhawks' Patrick Kane Dishes Out Pizza to Firefighters

They were never expecting the face on the other side of the door of Downers Grove Fire Station 2.

Oak Forest resident and Downers Grove firefighter Kevin O’Leary was treated to a special delivery, with a piping hot pizza delivered by Chicago Blackhawks right wing Patrick Kane.

O’Leary’s wife Courtney nominated him for the exclusive moment for the team’s #WhatsYourGoal campaign.

“He is a wonderful husband and an amazing dad, and he loves his job as a firefighter/paramedic, and he absolutely loves the Chicago Blackhawks,” Courtney said in her pitch for Kevin to win the visit. “No one on this planet deserves it more than he does.”

“Today, we’re going to bring the boys some pizza,” Kane said before knocking on the door of Downers Grove Fire Station 2.

Kane arrived with pies in hand, and even stayed to share a slice.

“He seems pretty relaxed, pretty calm, just like a firefighter would be,” Kane told Courtney when he called to check in from the station.

“You’re as big a part as we are to the city of Chicago,” he told O’Leary. “It’s an honor for me to come down here.”

A starstruck O’Leary said he owed his wife a hug and a kiss for making the meal happen.

“It’s very touching that she thought to do this for me and the guys I work with.”

The video will be played during Wednesday’s game against the Nashville Predators. A viewing party will be held at Hooters,1303 Butterfield Rd. in Downers Grove. Exact time to come soon.
