Boy Shot In Oak Forest Wednesday Night

A juvenile remains in critical condition after police say he was shot several times near Corey Lane and Thomas Drive Wednesday night.

OAK FOREST, IL — A juvenile boy is in critical condition Thursday morning after police say he was shot several times in Oak Forest late Wednesday night. Oak Forest police responded to an area near the intersection of Corey Lane and Thomas Drive for a call of shots fired at 11:23 p.m. and found the boy had been shot at that location.

The victim was transported to Advocate Christ Hospital, where he underwent surgery and remains in critical condition. Police did not release the age of the boy in a news release provided to Oak Forest Patch on Thursday.

No one has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting as of noon Thursday.

Police say the motive for the shooting remains unclear. They are working with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force on the investigation.
