Bremen HS Inducts Students into French & Spanish NHS

34 well-deserving students were inducted into local chapters of the French National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society

Bremen High School's World Languages Department is proud to announce the induction of 34 well-deserving students into their local chapters of the French National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society. Founded in 1949 and 1953 by the American Association of Teachers of French and Spanish, this organization promotes the continued study of the students' chosen foreign language. Students inducted must be in their 3rd or 4th year of high school study, and must have maintained a high average in their world language class, as well as their other classes. Upon induction to this honor society, students are expected to continue their language study until graduation from high school, complete service hours, and continue to earnestly promote the language. Bremen High School’s French and Spanish Honor Societies together have a total of 56 outstanding students.

Spanish teacher Mrs. Carrie Diederich and French teacher Mrs. Amanda Chelepis spearheaded the organizations to honor and recognize students who stay committed to learning a world language during all four years of high school. Students have many options when it comes to courses they may take, and world languages are not a requirement for all four years. Mrs. Diederich explained, “All students inducted into this prestigious honor society have truly made an effort to be successful within the classroom while also promoting cultural awareness in the community.” "Félicitations" and "Félicitaciones" to our students!
Students inducted into the French National Honor Society include: Valerie Cazares, Jackie Díaz, Deysi Garcia, Stephanie Karwaczka, Emily Leal, and Ariana Lopez.
