Carjacking in Midlothian Begins High-Speed Police Chase

A man leaving his girlfriend's apartment on Pulaski Road on Sunday was carjacked by three men.

MIDLOTHIAN, IL - A man who was leaving his girlfriend’s apartment in Midlothian Sunday afternoon was carjacked at gunpoint before the carjackers led police on a chase that was ultimately terminated.

Three masked men approached the victim on bicycles and with a gun around 4 p.m. in the 14600 block of Pulaski Road and stole $200 and car keys before making off with the gray 2015 Toyota Camry the victim owns, according to a report from the Daily Southtown.

Police spotted the car entering the southbound ramp of Interstate 57, where a high-speed chase began. Police terminated the chase, which reached 100 mph, after the suspects crashed into a gate at the Illinois Toll Plaza and continued eastbound on Interstate 80 near Halsted Street.

The man with the gun was described as in his early 20s, about 5-feet-10 weighing 180 pounds and with dreadlocks.
