Heroin Found Hidden in Parolee's Hat: COPS
Parolee told Oak Forest police to "search me" so officers did, prosecutors said.

OAK FOREST, IL -- A parolee challenged Oak Forest police to “search me,” when officers found three baggies of heroin in his hatband, prosecutors said.
Daniel Sterkowitz, 23, of Tinley Park, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice, on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. He is currently out on parole for four drug convictions, where he had been serving a concurrent sentence of three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, according to prison records.
The prosecutor said that police were called to the CVS at 158th Street and Cicero Avenue on June 15 for a report of man passed out in a running card. When officers around, Sterkowitz was standing outside a gold Oldsmobile. Officers said he appeared inebriated.

Police asked Sterkowitz if he had anything illegal on his person, to which he allegedly replied, “no, you can search me.” The prosecutor said officers found three baggies of heroin in his hatband.
Bail was set at $200,000. Sterkowitz’s next court hearing is July 17 in Bridgeview.
