Fans, brace yourself. They'll be back soon!

The doughnut scene in Chicagoland is about to get gooier.
Krispy Kreme on Tuesday announced that it is coming back to Chicago, with the opening of 8 new stores planned in ”the next few years.” The doughnut chain once operated several doughnut shops in Chicago and the suburbs, but in recent years closed all but one, in Elk Grove Village. The new shops will be in Chicago and throughout Cook County, though no specific locations have been released.
“There’s a high demand for Krispy Kreme in the greater Chicagoland area,” Patricia Perry, Krispy Kreme’s Vice President, US Franchise Development told NBC.
