Jack Janozik To Retire As Oak Forest Fire Chief

Oak Forest Fire Chief Jack Janozik has been with the Oak Forest Fire Department since 1986.

OAK FOREST, IL -- Oak Forest Fire Chief Jack Janozik will retire at the end of the month after more than 30 years with the Oak Forest Fire Department. Janozik recently announced his retirement will be effective on June 29, according to a news release from the city of Oak Forest.

Janozik was hired by the city in 1986 on a part-time basis and began his career as a full-time paramedic/firefighter in 1992. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2009, deputy chief in 2014 and fire chief last year.

“We will certainly miss Jack and all of the experience and wisdom more than 25 years with the same department brings to an organization,” Oak Forest Mayor Hank Kuspa said. “We are grateful for his service and wish him well in retirement.”
