Oak Forest HS Madrigal Choir Performs at Bristol Renaissance Faire
This year marked the seventh time the choir has performed at the faire

The Town Crier announced, “The Oaken Forest Singers shall present a small program in honor of Her Majesty the Queen.” With this, the Oak Forest High School Madrigal Singers walked into an audience with Queen Elizabeth of Bristol Renaissance Faire last weekend and performed several songs, to the delight of the courtiers and guests gathered around.
The Oak Forest High School Madrigal Singers were dressed in their medieval garb and fit right in with the others at the Faire. Everyone else in the Queen’s Court at the Bristol Renaissance Faire was dressed to the nines in their Madrigal dresses and doublets.
This is the atmosphere that the Oak Forest High School Madrigal singers walked into when they performed at the Bristol Renaissance Faire last weekend in Kenosha, Wisconsin. They even put on their acting hats and got into character by acting the part of a Renaissance court.

According to Madrigal Choir director Victor Pazik, the OFHS Madrigal choir is the only choir that has consistently performed at the Bristol Renaissance Faire. This year marks the seventh time the choir has performed at the Bristol Renaissance Faire.
Crowds delighted at their Madrigal songs. They sang a four song set list twice in the morning and once for Queen Elizabeth of the Faire. Two crowd favorites were “Wassail” and “Adoramus te Christe,” songs that are incorporated every year into the Madrigal show, which will be held this year on December 9 and 10.

Pazik said he was very impressed with the OFHS students, some of whom have been in the Madrigal Choir for four years. “They were very professional and really embraced their Renaissance roles.” They delighted the crowd by interacting with them as if they were actually a Renaissance Court.
This performance marks the debut of the Madrigal Choir’s choral season. They will also represent Oak Forest High School at many community events this school year, culminating in the Madrigal Dinner.
