Oak Forest Police, Fire Departments In Fundraising Events This Weekend
The Oak Forest Police Department and Oak Forest Fire Department will both be at charity events on Saturday.

OAK FOREST, IL -- Both the Oak Forest Police Department and Oak Forest Fire Department will participate in fundraising events of Saturday. The police department will be a participant in the “Five-O at the Dirty-O” stock car race in Joliet for Special Olympics and the fire department will be in the "Fire Up A Cure" event at Saint Xavier University in Chicago for children fighting cancer and survivors, according to the Living Oak Forest blog operated by the city.
Oak Forest police will be one of many departments at the Route 66 Raceway on Saturday. They will show off their department's patrol colors and decals on a stock vehicle. The winning officer will receive "bragging rights as the fastest cop in town" and the Five-O at the Dirty-O trophy, the blog stated.
The firefighters will have a team in a fitness-related event at SXU that will help raise money to allow children with cancer to participate in fire cadet schools and cadet programs. They will participate in events such as tug-of-war, jousting, obstacle courses and a fire truck pull.
