Slain Man Identified In Alsip Condo Shooting: Medical Examiner
A man has died of his injuries after two people were found shot in the vestibule of condo building in Alsip. Police set up tip line.

ALSIP, IL -- A man found shot in an Alsip condominium complex Tuesday evening has been identified at 33-year-old Andrew L. Scott Jr., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner. Scott died from multiple gunshot wounds and his death has been ruled a homicide. The Alsip man, along with another person, were found shot in a vestibule of an condominium building after police received a report of shots fired.
Officers went to a condominium building around 6:22 p.m. in the 4600 block of 131st Street after a caller reported hearing shots being fired. Both victims were taken to a hospital, where Scott died of his injuries. No information is available on the second person’s condition.
Alsip police said in a news release that the shooting did not appear to be a random act and there is no threat to the community. The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are assisting in the investigation. Anyone with information about the shootings is urged to call the Alsip police tip line at 708-385-6902, ext. 264.
