Stolen Guns, Heroin, Cocaine Found In Midlothian Home: Cops

Police say the man arrested after the search was under a federal investigation for trafficking firearms.

MIDLOTHIAN, IL - A number of firearms and drugs were recovered from a Midlothian home on Thursday when police there executed a search warrant. The target of the search warrant was also under investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms for the trafficking of firearms, according to police.

Heroin, cocaine and 11 firearms were confiscated from the home, Interim Police Chief Dan Delaney wrote on the Midlothian Police Department's Facebook page Friday morning. Two of the firearms had been reported stolen and another two had defaced serial numbers.

Police arrested Mario Howard as a result of the search warrant and subsequent finds.

K-9 Officer Barber and the Cook County Sheriff's Office SWAT team assisted in the search, according to police.
