Suspects Described in Oak Forest 7-Eleven Robbery

Police describe the suspects and the vehicle used in Saturday morning's armed robbery at the 7-Eleven on 167th Street.

OAK FOREST, IL - The suspects in an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven on 167th Street in Oak Forest fled in a black mid-sized SUV and headed eastbound toward I-57 after committing the crime in the early morning hours on Saturday, Oak Forest Police Chief Tim Kristin said.

Kristin confirmed the report of an armed robbery at 1:14 a.m. at the store in the 4900 block of West 167th Street. It was the second armed robbery reported at an Oak Forest 7-Eleven location in as many weeks.

The suspects - both described as black men - made off with an undetermined amount of money and were each armed with black handguns, Kristin said.

The SUV fled the scene before police arrived. Police were first alerted to the crime via a silent hold-up alarm.

The matter remains under investigation by local authorities.
