Cook County Sheriff's Police said the teens ambushed two other people who had arranged to sell pot to individuals they had met on Snapchat.

ROBBINS, IL -- Two teens were arrested in the shooting of a 20-year-old Chicago man during a Snapchat-arranged pot deal in Robbins on Sept. 10, Cook County Sheriff’s police said. A 15-year-old male from Robbins and a 17-year-old male from Sauk Village face felony charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and two counts of attempted armed robbery. The teens were charged as juveniles.
According to the charges, late on the afternoon of Sept. 10, a 20-year-old Chicago man and 18-year-old Blue Island woman agreed to sell marijuana to some people the woman had met on Snapchat. While waiting for their customers to show up in the 134000 block of Ridgeway in Robbins, the man and woman were confronted by two male juveniles, police said. One of juveniles allegedly pointed a gun and demanded they hand over everything in their possession.
Sheriff’s police said the Chicago man was shot as the juveniles drove away. He is expected to recover from his wound. Working with the Robbins Police Department, sheriff’s police were able to determine the alleged involvement of the juvenile offenders now charged. A 15-year-old was taken into custody on Sept. 12. A 17-year-old police have identified as the alleged shooter was arrested Sept. 15. Their names are being withheld because they are charged as juveniles.
