Bride and Groom Smooch In Front Of Fire Engine While Oak Lawn Firefighters Put Out Blaze At Oak Lawn Hilton

Fire trucks made an interesting backdrop for a bride and groom's wedding pictures during a small fire Saturday at the Oak Lawn Hilton.

OAK LAWN, IL — A wedding reception at the Hilton Chicago/Oak Lawn was interrupted Saturday evening when a small fire broke out in a ceiling void of the carport drop off area near the entrance, fire officials said.

Around 6:45 p.m., Oak Lawn firefighters were dispatched to the Hilton at 9333 S. Cicero Avenue. When they arrived, a small fire was underway in the carport area.

“There was no extension into the building and only a short interruption to business,” Oak Lawn Fire Chief Mike McMillan told Patch.
