Cake, Kief, Vapes, Baby Teeter, Glo-Extracts Found In Traffic Stop
Assorted cannabis products and cash were recovered from a 19-year-old Burbank man's trunk during a traffic stop, Oak Lawn police said.
OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn police found assorted cannabis products during a traffic stop. The products weighed just under a half-pound, reports said.
Just after 10 p.m. Feb. 7, Oak Lawn detectives saw a 2017 Mazda traveling east on 103rd Street from Austin Avenue. Police said the vehicle ignored stop signs for several blocks. After the traffic light at 103rd and Central Avenue, detectives curbed the vehicle.
Upon approaching the car, detectives said they could smell burnt cannabis. The driver and sole occupant, Cesar Tetla, 19, of Burbank, provided police with his driver’s license but said his proof of insurance was in his phone. The detectives noticed suspect cannabis or shake in plain view strewn around the inside of the car, as well as blunt wrappers, reports said.

Asked if he was smoking marijuana in the vehicle, Tetla allegedly responded that he had smoked in the car earlier in the day.
While searching the car, detectives found a glass jar in the driver’s side door containing what appeared to be pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes. The detectives also found 96 boxes containing distillate cannabis vape cartridges labeled “Big Chief,” and 60 individual “vape bars” labeled “cake.” In addition, 15 glass jars labeled “Baby Teeter” containing pre-rolled cigarettes with suspect “kief,” and one box labeled “glo extracts” containing suspect cannabis oil. The products were recovered from the Mazda’s trunk totaling 206 grams.

Police said Tetla had $195 in five-dollar denominations, consistent with street sales, reports said. An additional $1,072 in various denominations was found in the Mazda’s trunk.
Detectives asked Tetla if he had a medical cannabis card, he replied that he had not, reports said. He was placed under arrest and taken to the Oak Lawn police station. Tetla requested an attorney, and the interview was stopped. He was issued two traffic citations for disobeying a stop sign.
Tetla was charged with felony counts of possession of cannabis 100-500 grams with intent to manufacture/deliver. The cash and Mazda are being held pending asset forfeitures.
