Convicted Sex Predator Skips Address: Warrant
A convicted sex predator is no where to be found after Summit police's annual sex offender address verification check, cop tells judge.

SUMMIT, IL -- A warrant was issued for a Summit man convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse after he molested his girlfriend’s underage daughter in 2016. Jose Lozano, 41, skipped his last known address during Summit police’s annual address verification check in June, a detective testified in court. Lozano is classified as a sexual predator, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.
Lozano was arrested Feb. 8, 2016, when his girlfriend saw him coming out of her 15-year-old daughter’s bedroom, prosecutors said. Lozano lived with girlfriend and her daughter in Summit. Prosecutors said during Lozano’s bond hearing that he had twice sexually abused the teen and told her not to tell her mother after the encounters.

Court records indicate that Lozano pled guilty to the charges and was sentenced to two years’ probation set to terminate in November 2019. The judge also ordered him not to have unsupervised contact with children under 18 except for his infant child while on probation. The Summit detective told Cook County Judge Peter Felice that Lozano was in Cook County Jail in April, when it was learned he was living with another family, which included a 5-year-old child.
