Free Kids' ID Cards, Car Seat Installation Offered At KISS Event

Create photo IDs and get a child safety seat inspection this Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Children's Museum in Oak Lawn.

OAK LAWN, IL—Parents can get a photo ID card for their children and some expert help making sure child safety seats are properly installed in their vehicles this Saturday, Aug. 10. The free Kids’ Identification and Safety Seat (K.I.S.S.) public safety event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Children's Museum in Oak Lawn, 5100 Museum Drive.

Certified technicians will be on the first floor of the Metra parking tower by the museum at this time to help drivers ensure that the child safety seats in their vehicles are installed properly. Several vehicles including a snowplow and a Tollway H.E.L.P truck will be outside of the parking tower as part of a touch-a-truck display.

Representatives stationed inside the children's museum will be available to make identification cards for children ages three and above. The identification card will include general information about the child as well as an updated picture which will aid police if the child is to go missing.
