Gun, Hollow Point Rounds, Found in 'Documented' Gangbanger's Car: Prosecutors
Burbank police saw the gun grip poking out of the steering column during traffic stop, prosecutors said.

The faint odor of cannabis led officers finding a loaded gun in a documented gang member’s vehicle during a traffic stop in Burbank, prosecutors said.
Jorge Navarro, 24, described by Burbank Police as a “documented” gang member, was stopped by police on an alleged speeding violation around 11 a.m. November 3.

Officers said they detected the faint smell of cannabis, which led to the discovery of an off-white residue. A further search of the vehicle revealed the grip of a handgun that had been hidden under the steering column.
The gun was identified as a black Diamondback DB380 semi-automatic handgun. Police found four live hollowpoint rounds in the magazine and one live hollowpoint round in the chamber prosecutors said.

Navarro was charged with unlawful possession or use of a weapon by felon. He currently has a case pending for filing a false police report this past April.
Burbank Police said that Navarro is a “documented gang member.”
Bail was set at $100,000. Navarro’s next court hearing is December 2.
