Hospital Visitor Screams Obscenities, Runs Past Security: Police
A Chicago woman is charged with disorderly conduct after police said she ran past security up to NICU at Advocate Children's Hospital.
OAK LAWN, IL — A Chicago woman was arrested after she ran past the security desk at a children’s hospital and shouted obscenities at security officers, reports said. Celeste Chantal Brown, 29, was charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing identification and criminal trespassing.
Around 6:30 a.m. Sept. 25, Oak Lawn police were dispatched to Advocate Christ Children’s Hospital for a report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, hospital security were holding a woman, eventually identified as Brown, police said.
According to the report, Brown entered the children’s hospital and waved her wristband as she walked past the security desk. She allegedly refused to stop at the desk so could be checked in by security, per hospital policy. Officers said Brown accused security of “always following me.”

Brown reportedly made it to the third floor pediatric and NICU unit. Police said that when security stopped Brown from entering the unit, she started screaming obscenities. The father of one of the patients identified Brown as the mother of his child, reports said.
A security supervisor tried to defuse the situation by telling Brown she could come back the next day, provided she identified herself and followed hospital policy. Hospital staff called Oak Lawn police when Brown allegedly refused to leave.

Police said Brown refused to give her birth date, repeating “1,2,3,4.” Declining one last opportunity to give her name, Brown was identified from the patient contact list, reports said. In addition to being charged with various misdemeanors, Brown was banned from hospital property and given a criminal trespass warning.
Brown has a hearing on Nov. 6 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
