With nearly all precincts reporting in the Oak Lawn trustee race, it appears incumbents Tim Desmond and Robert Streit will return to the board, and William “Bud” Stalker will join them.

In District 1, incumbent Desmond appears to have defeated former trustee Cyntia Trautsch, according unofficial vote tallies on the Cook County Clerk’s website. This is the second time Trautsch has lost to Desmond in a District 1 trustee race. Trautsch held the position about four years ago when she was appointed to fill the unexpired term of former trustee Jerry Hurckes.

Though one precinct has yet to report results in District 3, Streit is ahead of J. John ”J.J.” Zurek and Scott Hollis. If Streit wins, this would be his seventh term on the Oak Lawn Village Board. He said in a November interview with Patch that he intends to continue his pursuit of government transparency, public safety and fair service contracts.

Stalker, a political newcomer, seems to have won the District 5 seat over Daniel R. Johnson. Stalker described himself as a business-minded man who intends to bring the best products at the best prices to Oak Lawn.
