NEW! Thornton’s Inc. has several openings available at its south suburban locations for guest service representatives, clean team members, shift leaders, general managers and store managers. Thornton’s offers a profit sharing (after one year of employment), a 401k, health benefits to qualifying employees, and paid vacation and sick days. They’re hiring now. NEW! Carson’s is hiring 10,000 seasonal associations at all it’s locations to work during the busy holiday season. In addition, the store is hiring 500 associates at area distribution centers. NEW! Mathnasium of Orland Park - The Math Learning Center has part time openings for math instructors to work with students in grades K to 12. We are looking for motivated, passionate and compassionate “math people” to join our team as Math Instructors. Successful candidates understand the importance of math education and use their impeccable math skills and outgoing personality to help children learn.
Responsibilities: Our instructors will be trained to use the Mathnasium method to instruct and provide personalized math instruction. Curriculum and materials are pre-determined, there are no homework assignments for students and no lesson plans for the instructors to prepare.

  • Work with students from K through 12th grade teaching them in a way that ‘makes sense to them’
  • Assist with school math homework tutoring
  • Provide effective and concise math instruction using the Mathnasium Method
  • Assist in tracking the progress of each student
  • Contribute to the creation of an engaging and productive learning environment

Knowledge and Personality Requirements:

  • Personal Traits: Friendly, outgoing, confident, flexible, sense of humor, professional attitude, trustworthy, passionate, excited, and energetic.

Technical Skills: Impeccable math skills through Algebra and Geometry (knowledge of Trig and Calculus is a plus). Please note that all candidates must pass a Math Literacy Test covering concepts through Pre Calculus.
