Stuff You Need to Know

If you are an athlete that has interest in continuing with athletics in college, this is a can’t miss event! Monday, October 21st at 7 pm in the Little Theater, OLCHS athletics and speaker Jack Renkens will provide our community with a free 50 minute seminar on the realities and facts about the college recruitment process. Beneficial for students of all grades and all sports! Hope to see you there! If you have questions about the event, see Mr. Cryan in the Athletic Office.

All students attending this Saturday’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer should meet in the Spartan Lobby at 8AM. Bus leaves at 8:15AM. Please dress for the weather & wear pink with Spartan green. See Mrs. Marks, Mrs. Sidlow or Mrs. Vanderwarren, if you have questions.

Attention seniors , now is the time to order your senior gear! Orders are open now through all of October, the shop closes October 31st. You can order and make payments online or through the media center. Show your spartan pride by wearing a class of 2020 t-shirt, long sleeve, sweatshirt, sweatpants, or even windbreaker! Order now! If you have any questions please see Mrs.Wholley in the media center.

  • Help at the Children’s Museum of Oak Lawn Halloween Party this Friday evening
  • The PTSA is having their annual craft show this Saturday here at OLCHS and needs help all day! Seniors – remember that in order to apply for a PTSA scholarship in spring, you must have volunteered at one of their events. Don’t miss your opportunity!

Club/Team News

Cheerleading. Competitive Cheerleading Tryouts!! October 29th and 30th. If interested, see Coach Vanderwarren in Office 123 for informational packet.

Girls’ Track & Field. Ladies, the time has come to dust off your running shoes and begin our preseason workouts. Have you ever wondered how fast you can run, how high you can jump, or how far you can throw? There will be a meeting after school for all new and old athletes on Monday November 4th in the Junior/Senior Lounge. We will discuss days, times, and expectations of preseason. The preseason workouts start on November 18th and you must have an updated physical on file. Please stop by room 211 for additional information if you cannot make the meeting.
