OLCHS Spartans Brings Home Fifth Place Honors in IHSA Speech Tourney

OAK LAWN, IL -- Oak Lawn Community High School’s storied speech and drama program took home fifth place honors following the IHSA State Speech Tournament.

Individual event finalists included: Mercedes Lopez, Second Place in Humorous Interpretation; Marlene Favila, Second Place in Informative Speaking; Mercedes Lopez, Fourth Place in Original Comedy; Joshua Cash and Jacob Montesano, Fifth Place in Humorous Duet Acting; Megan Baker, Fifth Place in Original Oratory.

The Spartans took home a third place medal for the Performance in the Round category, staging “The Terrible Tragedy of Peter Pan.” The cast for Performance in the Round is Abby Moore, Alyssa Bitner, Bianca Honeycutt, Cesar Martinez, Grace Pagliaro, Hanna Harris, Jonathan McLawhorn, Julia Rothman, Kaitlyn Grady, Lucas Wessel, Mary Majcherek, Matt Olejniczak, Mirtha Guerra, Moises Pena Bello, Nick Soto, Noah Swanberg, and Shelby Roberts.
