Lemont Man Accused Of Sending Sex Photos To Lemont HS Students

A Lemont man already facing child porn charges was back in court for allegedly sending photos of his penis to Lemont High School students.

LEMONT, IL -- A Lemont man was back in court Friday, where three new charges of possession of child pornography and distributing harmful material to minors were filed. Alejandro Martinez, 27, was working for an independent contractor at Lemont High School when he was arrested Nov. 9. Martinez is currently out on bond and was ordered not to have contact with children under 18..

According to the charges, Martinez was employed by Single Path, a contractor working for Lemont High School, that provided technology services to the school. Martinez worked at the help desk, where he assisted faculty, support and staff with their technology needs.

Martinez was arrested on Nov. 9, after police found a video of a child bound with rope and performing a sex act with an adult, along with hundreds of other photos and videos on his cell phone, the prosecutor said. None of the photos were of Lemont High School students. His bail was set at $75,000.

“This is just an expansion of the pending investigation,” Martinez’s attorney told the judge. “There is no criminal history. He was terminated from his job, but he has a new one.”

“I can’t condone such activities, but he is presumed innocent,” Judge Peter Felice said. “It’s disgusting if it’s true.”

The attorney stated that Martinez is a former employee of the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, where he was assigned to the jail. Cook County Sheriff's police were unable to confirm if Martinez had been employed there.

“Some inmates recognized him from a year ago,” the attorney said. “He is in danger if he goes back there.”

The prosecutor added more special conditions of bond, including no computer, no contact with children, and no internet. The judge put Martinez on an 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew.

Bail was set at $5,000 for each new charge. Martinez is due back in court Dec. 28 in Bridgeview.
