St. Gerald Fest and Carnival 2019: What You Need To Know

OAK LAWN, IL—In the spirit of Father Malcolm, who passed away suddenly on July 4, the St. Gerald’s Fest and Carnival must go on. For over 60 years, the parishioners of St. Gerald Church have been on a mission from God setting up booths and rides on the corner of Southwest Highway and Central Avenue in Oak Lawn for the annual summer parish carnival.

This weekend the ever popular St. Gerald Fest returns for four fun-filled days, from Aug. 8 through Aug. 11. The carnival offers rides, music, food, bingo, crafts and raffles.

St. Gerald Parish welcomes Chuck's Southern Comfort Cafe of Burbank, New China Express and Buddy's Italian Ice to the food court. Father Malcolm's Memorial Food Tent also returns.

Parishioners have also lined up some spectacular beer tent entertainment, including the Almost Einstein, the Ron Burgundy’s, Dancing Noodles and Five Guys Named Moe, to name a few.

You can still buy four-day mega passes at the $40 pre-sale price through 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8; $60 at the carnival. The mega passes are good for ALL rides for ALL four days for ALL ages. Mega passes can be purchased by calling the parish office at 708-422-0234 or after Sunday mass. Unlimited ride specials are available from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday; wristbands are $20.

Saturday, Aug. 10 - 2 to 5 p.m., 6 to 10 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 8 - Almost Einstein, 7 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 9 - The Ron Burgundy’s, 8 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 10 - Joe and Noel, 1 p.m.; The Blues Family, 4 p.m.; Dancing Noodles, 8 p.m.
