Christmas Without Cancer & Queen of Hearts Drawing Tonight

St. James hosts Queen of Hearts Drawing for ChristmasWithoutCancer; Local Families Benefit from Split of 45K

It could be you any Thursday evening now at St. James Place, 5305 West 95th Street in Oak Lawn, with a Queen of Hearts total of more than $45,000, half of which will raise funds for Christmas Without Cancer and the other half prize money for the lucky card holder.

"St. James is a godsend for us,” said Gerri Neylon, founder of Christmas Without Cancer. “Our season might not begin until we hold our 5K in September but the fine people of St. James and their patrons know we can always help people locally with money to pay bills, medicines or parking at hospitals. The need is great all year.”

Like the happy total that has reached $45,000, the crowds have grown in recent weeks as the long-time Oak Lawn establishment hosts local walk-ups, regulars, football and World Series fans and people up for free pizza with their beverage.

According to Neylon, combining efforts with other organizations like St. James keeps everyone “on a mission to help” raise awareness to fund families in need at Christmas.
