Bandit Who Wore Old Man Mask Charged in Orland Bank Heist: FBI
A 30-year-old man who allegedly wore an old man mask is charged in the Halloween bank heist of Fifth Third Bank in Orland Park

ORLAND PARK, IL -- A 30-year-old man has been arrested for the Halloween heist of an Orland Park bank, the FBI said. The suspect, identified as Skye Perk, wore an old man mask when he allegedly robbed the Fifth Third Bank. Perk is formerly of Orland Park and is believed to be homeless.
According to the federal criminal complaint, a bandit wearing an old man mask entered the Fifth Third Bank, 15330 Harlem Ave, Orland Park, around 10:30 a.m. Oct. 31. The robber pushed a note written on a piece of notebook paper to the teller, which essentially read: “Dont [sic] say anything. Don’t look up. Give me all bills out [of] Register except 1$s. Be quick and don’t Play [expletive deleted] games.”
The purported bandit was wearing a black puffy jacket with a “First Down” logo on the left chest, light pants, a light brimmed cap and yellow tinted glasses. On the video, the robber can be seen talking but his lips aren't moving, the FBI said. The teller got scared and quickly gathered money to hand over to the robber. The teller told the FBI that the man groaned, apparently displeased with the amount of cash he was given. When the teller told him it was all the money in the drawer, the robber took the money and left with $545, the FBI said.

On Nov. 9, the Flossmoor Police Department notified the FBI that they had man in custody believed to be responsible for the Hallowed bank heist. The officer said earlier in the day he saw a 2006 Ford Taurus speeding. He pulled over the driver, later identified as Perk, the FBI said. When the officer ran the plate, affixed over the car's actual plates, came back registered to a Mitsubishi. The cop said a different plate used on the front of the car was registered to a Chevrolet. Perk allegedly told the officer that he found the plates in a dumpster and put them on his car because he has no insurance. He was placed under arrest for traffic and vehicular violations.

Flossmoor cops also noted that Perk was wearing a black “First Down” jacket and a scarf, along with pants and shoes like those worn by the robber captured in the Fifth Third Bank surveillance video Oct. 31. Police searched Perk’s vehicle, where they found a bag on the floorboard containing was appeared to be human flesh. The bag contained a realistic-looking old man mask like that worn by the suspect in the Orland Park bank robbery. There were also some hats and sunglasses similar to those used by the robber, the complaint said.
The FBI said a notebook was also found. One one page — approximately the size of the note left behind at Fifth Third Bank — indentations made by the pen that was used to write the demand note were visible. Perk allegedly told Flossmoor police that he bought the old man mask on Backpage for a Halloween party. He claimed he had been in Champaign for a few days before Halloween and had attended a party there on Halloween night, the FBI said.
Perk was charged with one count of bank robbery. He appeared in federal court Thursday night where a judge ordered him to be detained.
