Waddell & Reed's “Honoring Our History” Traveling World War I Exhibition will roll into Chicago’s Navy Pier on Saturday, August 11, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Chicago is the 61st stop on a national 75-city tour to honor veterans. The exhibit will be located at the east end of Navy Pier and will be open free to the public.

Visitors can experience the sites and sounds of World War I, including the tight conditions of warfare in a simulated trench, and see the relatively primitive weapons, equipment and uniforms of the “war to end all wars” nearly 100 years ago.

Admission is free to the WWI exhibit on August 11; however, donations are appreciated and will benefit the First Division Museum at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, as well as the National World War I Museum in Kansas City, Mo.

The event at Navy Pier is being coordinated by Waddell & Reed offices in Orland Park, Schaumberg, Naperville, Oak Brook. Waddell & Reed is one of the country’s oldest mutual fund companies. The two founders of Waddell & Reed, Chauncey Waddell and Cameron Reed, were WWI veterans.
