District 230 shared the story of Period 2: Advisory, Enrichment and Intervention twice during the Joint Annual Conference in Chicago. School Board Vice President Melissa Gracias, Secretary Sue Dalton, Member Tony Serratore and Superintendent Dr. James M. Gay presented a 30-minute panel talk.
Board President Rick Nogal, Guidance Director Dr. Meredith Sheriff (CS), Principal Bob Nolting (VJA), Head Dean Mary Pat Carr (AAS) and Dr. Gay shared an extended presentation the following day.
"We were proud to share the success Period 2 has made possible through the dedication of staff, administration and school board to meet the needs of all students," said Dr. Gay. "The response has been outstanding with many schools from throughout the state reaching out to gather more information and to see if they can tour our schools to see Period 2 in action. I am truly thankful for the opportunity to share our story and to assist school leaders across Illinois in building relationships and supporting students academic performance and social emotional well-being."
