Orland District 135 Fills Board Vacancy

Devin Hodge was appointed to fill the seat vacated by Joe La Margo.

On the evening of October 26, the Orland School District Board of Education selected Devin Hodge to fill the vacancy that was created when Joe La Margo stepped down last month. Hodge is a life-long Orland Park resident, and attended Doctor School, High Point School and Orland Junior High School. Hodge is the Deputy Director for Operations for the Joint Center for Energy Storage Research at Argonne National Laboratory He and his wife have four children, three of which are still attending District schools (one at High Point and two at Orland Junior High).

The Board received 16 letters of interest from community members who wanted to fill the vacancy. They selected four candidates that they interviewed at the Board meeting on the 26th, and eventually chose Hodge for the position. Hodge was sworn in by Board President Dr. Laura Berry immediately following the candidate interviews.
