Orland Park Volvo Cars Teams Up to Benefit Children and Teens with Cancer

A local car dealership teamed up with the Treasure Chest Foundation to help children and teens fighting cancer. Volvo Cars Orland Park went the extra mile by filling a Volvo XC90 with toys for the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation. After the holiday toy drive was over the Orland Park Volvo Cars raised hundreds of toys for children and teens fighting cancer.
The mission of Volvo Car Orland Park is to be extraordinary in their effort, performance and most importantly, in how they handle their customers.
Treasure Chest Foundation Founder and CEO Colleen Kisel is especially grateful to the Orland Park Volvo Cars employees and customers for their efforts in raising such an impressive number of toys. “Thanks to the success of the Volvo holiday toy drive creative fundraiser, 2023 will be brighter and happier for thousands of brave children who benefit from our services throughout the nation,” said Ms. Kisel.

The POTCF is a unique organization whose services impact more than 16,100 young cancer patients in 66 cancer treatment centers in 21 states across the nation and in the District of Columbia. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Ms. Kisel discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain, noting that when children are diagnosed with cancer their world soon becomes filled with doctors, nurses, chemotherapy drugs, surgeries and seemingly endless painful procedures. Martin celebrated his 29th anniversary of remission from the disease in March of this year.
