ORLAND PARK, IL -- The Orland Square Sears is among 39 Sears stores slated to close by early April. Sears Holdings, the parent company of Sears and Kmart, informed employees on Thursday that it will be closing additional stores. The financially-struggling retailer also announced that it will shutter 64 Kmart stores. Liquidation sales are expected to begin by Jan. 12.

"We will continue to close some unprofitable stores as we transform our business model so that our physical store footprint and our digital capabilities match the needs and preferences of our members," the company said in a statement.
