Orland Township Hosts Free Property Tax Appeal Seminar

Orland Township homeowners needing help filing property tax appeals are invited to a free seminar Aug. 14 at the Orland Park Civic Center.

ORLAND TOWNSHIP, IL -- Orland Township homeowners who need help appealing their property taxes are invited to a free seminar on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 S. Ravinia. The seminar runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Staff members of the Cook County Assessor’s Office will be available to provide technical assistance to Orland Township residents who wish to appeal the assessed valuation of their homes.

Cook County Commissioner Sean Morrison, Mayor Keith Pekau of Orland Park and the Cook County Assessor’s Office are sponsoring the seminar. Homeowners are asked to bring their most recent second installment and last year’s assessment notice, if possible. There is no charge to file an appeal and homeowners do not need an attorney. The assessed valuation will NOT go up if you lose your appeal.

Onsite assistance is also available for all Homeowner Exemption, Senior Citizen Exemption and Senior Freeze Exemption applications.
