Some schools and churches in Orland Park have canceled afternoon and evening activities as icy conditions move into the area Jan. 22.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- Some schools and churches in Orland Park have canceled their afternoon and evening activities as freezing rain moves into the south suburbs, causing icy conditions. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Cook County in effect until midnight Tuesday.
In effect for Tuesday, Jan. 22:
Calvary Church, closed Tuesday;

Carl Sandburg High School, after school sports and activities
Century Junior High, no afternoon activities or sports; Champions after school care open; boys basketball games scheduled for Tuesday have been rescheduled for Wednesday;

Dist. 135 schools, St. Michael’s and Cardinal Bernardin Schools, no afternoon or evening activities; Champions after school care will remain open.
