$250K Bond Set For Oswego Man Who Led Cops On High-Speed Chase: Berlin
The 43-year-old stole a Jaguar before leading police on a chase on Interstate 88, reaching speeds of about 110 mph, officials allege.

OSWEGO, IL — An Oswego man who stole a Jaguar and led police on a high-speed chase Monday was issued a $250,000 bond, officials said.
Around 6:22 p.m., an Oak Brook police officer located a 2019 Jaguar SUV that was reported stolen about two hours earlier. The car was stopped near the intersection of Interstate 83 and 22nd Street. After approaching the car and deploying a stop stick, a tire deflation device, the Jaguar fled west on 22nd Street, according to officials at the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.
The officer began pursuing the SUV, which had lost a tire, onto westbound I-88. The driver, identified as 43-year-old Craig Singleton, reached speeds of nearly 110 mph before coming to a stop near Winfield Road where he was taken into custody, officials said.

Singleton, of the 400 block of Grape Vine Trail, was charged with one count of aggravated unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle, two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer, one count of driving while license suspended or revoked, and multiple misdemeanor and petty traffic offenses.
"Oak Brook is an amazing community to live, shop and dine and it's also the wrong community to take a stroll through in a stolen vehicle," Oak Brook Chief of Police Brian Strockis said in a statement. "I want to thank our officers for their proactive efforts and quick thinking in deploying a stop stick anticipating that this vehicle would flee."
