What is a "Mom Bob"

Okay so I thought I would express some clarification on this much talked about haircut...the "mom bob." Working in the heart of New York City for the past ten years, this term was obsolete. After recently relocating to Oswego, this term has been frequently brought up in my salon during consultations lately...this was my invitation to shed some light.

A "mom bob" is a stereotypical term used referring to an unflattering, shapeless, bob-like haircut. My clients have been expressing interest in a shorter, fresher look for the summer. However, skepticism sets in when they hear the word bob. In my 16 year career, I have seen hundreds of variations of the bob haircut. It is not so much what is "in style," it is what will properly fit your head. Would you wear a pair of skinny jeans three sizes too small? No, then why would you wear a haircut that doesn't fit you? Most of us do not know if a haircut "fits" us or not, we just know something does not look right, or we cannot get our hair to lay a certain way. 

So, lets bury this term "mom bob." If a bob is cut to properly fit your head shape, face shape, lifestyle, etc.... it will probably be your sexiest haircut you have ever had!
